Before you choose

A little fit know-how.
A more confident choice.

Start with the piece you like, then check how it will fit, feel, and fit into your routine.

01 / Measure, then compare

Fit starts with your measurements.

Use a soft measuring tape and arrange your own hair as you plan to wear it under the wig. Record the unit with each measurement.

Around your head

Circumference

Measure from the front hairline, around the sides and nape, and back to your starting point.

Across the top

Ear to ear

Measure from the hairline above one ear, over the top of your head, to the other side.

Over the crown

Front to back

Measure from your front hairline over the center of your head to the hairline at your nape.

Check the exact piece. Size names such as petite, average, or “small-head friendly” do not replace its measurements. Ask Chelsea to compare your measurements with the wig you want. Fit can change as the amount of hair underneath changes.

These are general starting measurements. Follow the specific maker's measuring instructions and size chart. See Jon Renau's illustrated measuring guide ↗. This reference does not imply that the collection is made by Jon Renau.

02 / Ask about the details

A photo cannot answer everything.

Inside the cap

Ask for cap measurements and an inside photo. Confirm construction, adjustment options, and whether clips, combs, bands, or adhesive are needed or included.

Color and coverage

Compare the listed length, hair material, and parting area. Ask for another photo if a color or detail is hard to judge on your screen.

Your everyday routine

Confirm washing, drying, detangling, storage, and heat instructions for this exact piece. A human-hair or synthetic label alone does not establish its heat limit.

The whole cost

Review the item price, supplies or adjustments you may need, and the exchange and return conditions. Confirm the details before cutting lace, coloring, or altering the piece.

03 / A useful first question

Send the piece.
Tell us what matters.

You do not need to know every wig term. A product link and a question are enough to start.

Email Chelsea

“I am looking at this piece: [product link]. My priorities are [fit, style, care, or budget]. Could you confirm the cap measurements, how it is secured, and its care instructions?”

Include measurements if you have them. Keep medical records, prescriptions, and insurance identifiers out of website chat.
